It isn’t the best city. There are great opportunities but it can be somewhere you have to look out for yourself a lot.

My experience with Brockton was interesting and eventful, there is never a dull moment living in a city like this. I liked the people I met and grew with. I would like to see change in leadership roles in overseeing our educational aspects.

I've lived in Brockton for twenty three years. I really enjoy living in this city. Brockton provides easy accessibility to all types of services. I live ten minutes away from a mall, post office, registry of motor vehicles, pharmacies, banks, major restaurants, gas stations, to name a few. I consider my neighborhood to be safe overall and well maintained . The city of Brockton website is easy to navigate and services such as special bulk pick up, can be schduled in a timely manner. Overall, I am very satisfied for having decided to remain in Brockton. The city of Brockton has seen major commercial and financial growth in the past ten years. It is a very diverse and cultural city as well. Great school system and opportunities.

Brockton according to city data is ranked third in the entire state for crime. That says a lot right there. I've been in the city for over three decades and have seen and heard more shootings than I care to recollect. The driver's here of some of the worst in the state and some of the worst in the entire country. People are very ignorant here and it's just a nightmare to do shopping drive through or just navigate as well as live. It also has unusually high house prices etc considering it's such a cr@p hole. There is literally any other town or city I would rather live in in this entire State except perhaps for Lawrence Springfield or Holyoke. I'm getting out of here as soon as I can and I suggest people just do not even come here. I live on the so-called"good side"which is on the west side -not far from Easton - and my neighbor's cars have been broken into by heroin junkies just for spare change. Violence/drugs/crime etc... you will only see in horrible places such as Brockton. AWFUL

I have lived in Brockton for my whole life. My experiences living in the neighborhood is fine. There are plenty of friendly neighbors around here. However, I wish there would be changes for Brockton as a whole. I wish for better infrastructure and quality of life for all.

I’ve lived in Brockton my entire life as my wife and children have. The elementary school system is ok as long as the parents stay on top of everything. The junior high and high school system is atrocious. Our son goes to SEVTHS and our daughter goes to New Heights Charter so we have dodged that bullet. Where we live is low crime however with the illegal encampment going in at the old Christo’s it’s uncertain if the crime and filth will reach the outskirts.I see some people commenting the diversity is a good part of Brockton but I disagree. The more diverse a community gets the worse the standard of living gets. That’s just a fact. You can raise a family here but once your kids hit junior high age you’ll have to stay on top of your child’s interactions and social life. You’ll have to be choosy on which families you allow friendships to grow with and if you can, private, home school, charter school or select school. It takes strong parental involvement

There are a lot of opportunities to do well in life if you take them but the community makes it easy to choose a bad path.

Living in Brockton, Massachusetts, for over a decade has provided me with various unique positive and negative experiences. One of the city's standout features is its rich boxing history, including the legendary Rocky Marciano. Additionally, Brockton boasts a diverse population that I have never encountered before in my travels, making it a welcoming and inclusive community. Additionally, Brockton High School, with approximately 4,000 students, is the largest high school in Massachusetts. BHS has a unique sports culture, producing talented individuals throughout the years. Transportation is excellent as well. The city has easy transportation access with significant highways like Route 24 and a commuter rail station connecting it to other towns, including Boston. Consequently, One major drawback of Brockton is the presence of homeless people on the main street and surrounding area. Improved shelters are necessary to assist those in need.

It’s quiet and nice, but rarely gets violent situations or has traffic often.
Depends where you go, you meet nice people, rude people, or in between.
I guess I’m fine as the state of Brockton is, but less traffic, construction, and better atmosphere (too much litter, closed stores or reconstruction, better school system, provide home for the homeless, and the list goes on..)

I like how no one will bother you while you are walking down the street. I also like how it is not a big city but it is isn't a walking city either. I would like to get the side streets fixed and the main streets that the people use here because of the potholes.

I like the fact that everyone is always looking out for one another and they're always looking to make Brockton a better place to live. The people are also great and the diversity in the city is amazing. Things I would like to see a change in are more places for activities and fun things to do, and also a better mall so people don't have to drive out the city. Just an overall change in the development.

Brockton has a small city vibe feel. I enjoyed the diversity and convenience of stores and food options. However, the city needs to put more resources into its education system.

I liked the diversity in Brockton. The culture can really be felt and the people are generally very friendly. I did not like the violence is certain parts of the city. As of recently, I would not send my kids to the City's main high school because too many reports of distractions within in school keeps being reported on.

Brockton is an ok place to live. The living cost has risen significantly in the past couple years. The school system is not the best either, it can use some improvement. However the diversity, is at it's high. There is people from different culture and background.

I've lived in Brockton for 40 years and have seen changes in the Cities Demographics as many people from Boston and other communities are moving in due to our proximity to Boston, the 3 commuter rail stops located in Brockton. Easy access to RT 24 . Close proximiy to Stonehill College, Bridgewater State University, Massasoit Community College are an asset. Brockton is also close to Cape Cod and Providence. The Bourne Bridge is a 45 minute drive. Providence RI is 49 minutes away.

There are a lot of opportunities to connect with the community and the cultural melting pot that is present there is very comforting! Most would be skeptical of coming to such a place because of what is is usually tied to, but there are other aspects of the town that truly encompass the excellence of Brockton.
