Made using refrigerated biscuit dough, stuffed with chocolate, and covered in holiday sprinkles, this easy monkey bread recipe is the perfect sweet treat to serve your family Christmas morning.
Ooey gooey pull-apart monkey bread is one of my all-time favorite breakfast treats.
Truth be told, monkey bread makes a killer dessert as well. All that sugar — and in this case chocolate — make it the perfect treat for any time of day. Just like these OREO cinnamon buns.

How to Make Monkey Bread with Biscuits
First, gather your ingredients and supplies.
Ingredients:
- 2 packages biscuit dough (more details on this below)
- 2 sticks unsalted butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 4 tbsp. cinnamon
- Hershey Kisses (any flavor)
- Christmas sprinkles
Supplies:
- bundt pan
- non-stick spray
- large plastic baggie
We use store-bought biscuit dough for this monkey bread recipe, making it super easy to prepare.
You can usePillsbury™ Grands!™ Flaky Layers refrigerated Original biscuits or any other flaky biscuit dough.
Simple lay the biscuit dough out on a cutting board and cut each biscuit into quarters.
Pro Tip: Use a pizza roller to easily quarter the biscuit dough.
Then, working with one piece of dough at a time:
- flatten the dough
- add sprinkles
- add a kiss
- roll into a ball
Next, combine the white sugar and cinnamon in a large baggie.
Toss dough balls in the baggie, a few at a time, until well coated. Then, place the balls in a prepared bundt pan. Continue until all dough balls are coated and in pan.
Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Pour sauce over dough in bundt pan.
Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes or until the outside of the dough turns deep golden brown.
Allow to cool for 10 minutes then turn over onto a plate. Add more sprinkles — you can never have too many sprinkles in my opinion!
Now this should be obvious but is worth mentioning: do not cut your monkey bread.
Use your fingers to pull apart pieces to eat. Yes, it will be sticky and messy, but it is so worth it.
Serve with a glass of Christmas breakfast punch for an extra special Christmas morning breakfast.
I hope you and your family enjoy this Christmas morning chocolate stuffed monkey bread recipe and that you have a very happy holiday.

Made using refrigerated biscuit dough, stuffed with chocolate, and covered in holiday sprinkles, this easy monkey bread recipe is the perfect sweet treat to serve your family Christmas morning.
Ingredients
- 2 packages of refrigerated biscuit dough
- Christmas sprinkles
- Hershey Kisses unwrapped (any flavor is fine)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 Tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 2 sticks unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare bundt pan with a layer of non-stick spray and set aside.
Cut biscuits into quarters. Flatten each quarter slightly. Add a few sprinkles and a kiss, then roll into a ball and set aside. Repeat with remaining biscuit quarters.
Place white sugar and cinnamon in a large zipper baggie. Give it a shake to mix the ingredients together. Add a few dough balls at a time and toss until fully coated. Remove balls from ziplock bag and place into the bundt pan. Repeat until all dough balls are coated and in bundt pan.
Heat butter and brown sugar in a medium saucepan under medium heat until melted. Pour sauce over the biscuits
Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the top turns a deep brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes. Then, put a plate on top of the bundt pan and turn the monkey bread over onto the plate. Add a few more shakes of sprinkles then serve and enjoy!
Notes
Using a pizza slicer makes quartering multiple biscuits at once super simple.
