The PBR North Carolina 2024 Class Rankings have been updated. The summer saw a ton of action with players making their play for a big bump up the rankings or just to be added to the talented collection of names on the list. We release our updated class of 2024 rankings with a look at several names at the top of the list, risers in the rankings, and newcomers. The expanded rankings are linked below with the top 200 players in North Carolina listed.

The Top 3
Anderson Nance RHP / SS / Morehead, NC / 2024Rankings StateRank: 1 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 46 / POS: 9 Nance headlines a loaded list of pitchers in the ‘24 class. Still uncommitted, there were plenty of eyes on Nance as he was absolutely dominant in his two innings of work at the PBR Future Games in front of close to 400 college coaches. Working up to 92, Nance featured a mature 3 pitch mix with the feel for attacking hitters with the fastball at the bottom and top of the zone.

Drake Purvis LHP / OF / Randleman, NC / 2024Rankings StateRank: 2 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 42 / POS: 7 Purvis had a spring to remember, leading Randleman to the 2A State Championship in a year that saw the Tigers only lose one game. The lefty features excellent arm speed with a breaking ball that is ready to create issues for both left and right handed hitters. Purvis is committed to NC State.

Truitt Manuel RHP / West Henderson, NC / 2024Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 2 OverallRank: 148 / POS: 44 Another NC State commit, Manuel has continued to develop in the past year. A good athlete, the righty features a fastball that was up to 93 at the PBR National Program Invitational in June. A devastating two pitch mix as the fastball pairs with a hard, downer breaking ball.

The Risers
Kaden Morris RHP / OF / Cleveland, NC / 2024Rankings StateRank: 5 / POS: 3 Morris was a big winner at the PBR Future Games where he lit it up for Team Carolina, creating one of the larger buzzes at the event. The 6’8” righty has tremendous body control for his size allowing for projection on an already advanced fastball / breaking ball combination. Morris committed to NC State shortly after the outing at the Future Games. Morris moved from No. 27 to No. 5 in the class rankings.

Blake Crawford OF / RHP / North Lenoir, NC / 2024Rankings StateRank: 25 / POS: 5 One of the better athletes in the 2024 class, Crawford is only scratching the surface of his potential. He has run a sub-6.50 sixty on the laser timers as well as posting upper 90s exit velocity off the barrel. While raw, the ceiling on this talent is very high. Crawford moved from No. 40 to No. 21 in the updated rankings. |
Logan Lowe SS / 3B / C.E. Jordan, NC / 2024Rankings StateRank: 64 / POS: 11 Athletic, playing with some twitch in the past, Lowe has added strength and saw his sixty improve significantly in the past year, dropping below 6.60 on the lasers at the PBR Top Prospect Games in early August. Pair the twitch with a swing that produced barrel contact in BP and game play, as well as a defender that should be able to stay in the middle of the field and you have a prospect that has jumped considerably up the NC Rankings. Lowe bumps up inside the top 100, landing at No. 70, up from No. 120 in NC. |
The Newcomers
Parker Jones RHP / OF / Leesville Road, NC / 2024Rankings StateRank: 110 / POS: 37 Jones took advantage of the PBR Scout Day with TPA to showcase arm strength with a lean, still developing frame. |
Nathan Hayworth OF / RHP / East Rowan, NC / 2024Rankings StateRank: 127 / POS: 21 Hayworth checks a lot of boxes in a smaller frame. Running a sub-6.90 sixty on the laser, added with strong arm, and exit velocities above 90mph, he was a name to follow out of the Top Prospect Games in early August. |
Oakley Rempel OF / RHP / New Hanover , NC / 2024Rankings StateRank: 179 / POS: 35 A physical presence in the box and on the bump, Rempel is just beginning to scratch the surface of his talent. Showing up at the Last Chance ID, Rempel had a standout day that included an exit velocity at 99mph, running a 7.19 sixty, and working up to 84 on the bump. |
