Valentines Table Decorations - Lisa Herland Designs (2024)

Valentine’s day is one of my favorite holidays. I like to keep my decor simple with a touch of glam and I enjoy styling my dining table with Valentine’s table decorations. Today I am sharing some easy ways to decorate a round or horizontal dining table for Valentines. First up, I’m styling my round marble table. My table is from World Market, and it’s called the Leilani Tulip Dining Table. It is paired with Channel Back Leilani Dining Chairsfrom World Market. This set is just the right size for my kitchen dining area, and I love how the neutral marble top allows me to play with color in this space. This Valentine’s, I fell in love with blush and gold tones, so I came up with three fun vignettes for you.

Round table stying

In the first vignette, I started with a gold and marble tray to anchor my display. Next, I placed a white ginger jar filled with blush and glitter flowers. The flowers are actually Christmas flowers I purchased on clearance last year from Hobby Lobby. Next, I added a small clear candle holder with a glitter candle holder on top. By adding different decor pieces onto candle holders it creates a fun look. Lastly, I added a glitter Love sign to finish off the vignette.

In the second vignette, I placed a floral arrangement that I purchased at Homegoods. I added in a few pink glitter leaves leftover from Christmas to incorporate the blush tones. Then I reused my Love sign and added a tea light candle to give me a simple but fun centerpiece display.

Lastly, I placed one of my favorite marble trays that I purchased at Homegoods, and it’s also a lazy susan! It is so versatile, and it gets used a lot in my home. Then I brought in some fresh florals placed in a candle holder that is also a leftover Christmas decor piece. Next, I added a globe tea light holder from Zgallerie, and lastly, I added a gold leaf accent piece with some rose quartz crystals to tie in the blush tones again.

As you can see, I like reincorporating glittery Christmas decor into my everyday decor. One of my best decor tips is the day after Christmas, go out early in the morning and head to your favorite decor stores, and grab as many sale items that you can. It saves you money, and next Christmas, you have new fun decor pieces that you can use in your everyday decor throughout the year. Especially florals, candle holders, pillows, and tableware.

Notice how I styled each vignette in odd numbers? By grouping your decor pieces in odds, it’s more visually pleasing to the eye. In the first vignette, I started my design with a marble and gold tray. This anchors the vignette, next I added

Horizontal table styling

Most formal dining rooms only get used on special occasions, which is no different in my house. So I like to keep my tablescapes simple and elegant. In my home, I prefer to decorate the center of the table only when not in use.

For this design, I started with a blush fuzzy rug. Yes, you heard me right. I wanted a pink plush “runner,” and while I was shopping at Ross Dress for Less, I saw this rug, and I thought, why not! I’m so happy with how it turned out, and using unexpected items in my designs brings character and interest to the look.

Starting this design with the blush and glitter flowers in a ginger jar. They are the star of the show, so they are added right in the center. Next, I added some large round candle holders, then added large pillar candle holders for height. I purchased mine from Zgallerie, but I have seen similar ones at Burlington. On the ends, to balance out the display, I added medium-sized glitter candle holders and then lastly added in some tealights sprinkled throughout the display. Using varying heights of candle holders gives this tablescape interest, and I have to say it’s so beautiful all lit up at night.

When I start a new design theme, I always start with an inspiration piece. This Valentine’s inspiration piece was the blush and glitter flowers. I carried this theme throughout my home by adding in the blush accent pieces. Remember always to shop your home first and reuse and repurpose items you already have, then head out and shop for your wow statement pieces. This will save you time and money.
