DW Field Golf Course
Established in 1927 D.W. Field Golf Course is a classic Stiles and Van Kleek 18 hole layout offering views of the Olmstead designed, D.W. Field Park. The par 70 course offers a wide range of teeing options, elevation changes, and enjoyment for golfers of all abilities.

"We Invented America"
With Brockton at the center of our nation’s industrial development, individuals and organizations come together through the Historical Society to promote the city and region’s rich legacy.

Edison Exhibit
The Edison exhibit features a rare display of early incandescent bulbs, wiring, and equipment developed by Thomas Edison. In 1883, Edison selected Brockton, MA as the testing site for the world's first standardized central power system.
Fire Museum
The Brockton Fire Museum was constructed to preserve the proud history of fire fighting in the Brockton area and reflects the look of a Victorian Era station. Thousands of fire-fighting artifacts are preserved within the installation along with a memorial dedicated to the memory of Brockton’s own firemen who were killed in the Strand Theater disaster of 1941. The Homestead
The "original Homestead" was built in 1767 by Deacon Jeremiah Beal, descendant of Hingham's John Beal - one of the first shoemakers in America. Throughout the 19th century, the Homestead was used as a tavern called "The Solid Rock Inn." The building was later acquired by the Brockton Historical Society and still reflects a mix of 18th, 19th, and early 20th century architecture. The exhibit features items including primitive tools, a cast iron stove, intricate tin ceilings and fine works of art. The Homestead's library contains books, photographs, and genealogical materials relating to every period of Brockton's rich social and economic history.
Shoe Museum
The installation features “ The Rise and Fall of the American Shoe Industry” a documentary which traces the evolution of American shoemaking from the 16th century to the present.Additionally, the museum displays a popular exhibit of celebrity footwear including those worn by presidents and first ladies as well as Ted Williams, Arthur Fiedler, and Rocky Marciano. The shoe museum also features a unique collection of military shoes from the Civil War through Desert Storm.
Rocky Marciano Statue
Born in Brockton in 1923, Rocky Marciano was the reigning heavyweight champion of the world from September 23rd, 1952 to April 27th, 1956. Known and loved locally for his work ethic and unwillingness to quit, Marciano learned to box while serving in the United States Army during World War II.
A member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Marciano’s career statistics include 49 straight wins, 43 by knockout. Marciano's statue islocated in Champion Park on the grounds of the High School at 470 Forest Avenue in Brockton.
